Teaching is part of the system

Good instruction is not measured only by what an instructor knows, but by how safely and effectively students learn, drill, resist, and perform.

Coach pathway

Develop. Demonstrate. Lead.

Coach membership places teachers inside a continuing professional community—not at the end of a one-time certification course.

01Maintain active Coach membership
02Complete education, mentoring, and workshops
03Demonstrate technical and teaching competency
04Complete required SafeSport education and background screening
05Meet conduct, safety, and evaluation standards
06Continue development each year
The teaching standard

Built around the people we actually teach.

Most adult students train approximately twice each week and arrive with a wide range of fitness, confidence, and prior experience. Instructor education must account for that reality.

  • Age-appropriate lesson structure
  • Progressive resistance with controlled intensity
  • Integrated striking, grappling, and self-defense
  • Clear coaching, partner management, and protective equipment
  • Student development beyond technique collection
